1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Atlas. Atlas supports a parental consent flow for users under 16, which can be enabled server-side when required by applicable regulations. Anonymous support circles and community feeds are age-segregated. Anonymous spaces are fully segregated by age pool. Cross-age friendships and messaging are permitted with AI-powered content moderation on all cross-age communications.

2. Your Account

• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account.
• You may not share your account credentials or allow others to access your account.
• You may not create multiple accounts or impersonate another person.
• You may change your username once every 30 days.
• You can delete your account at any time from Settings. Deletion takes effect after a 30-day grace period during which you can restore your account.

3. Community Guidelines

Treat Others with Respect

• No harassment, bullying, intimidation, or personal attacks.
• No hate speech targeting any individual or group based on identity.
• No dismissing or mocking someone's emotions, mental health, or identity.
• No doxxing, sharing personal information, or attempting to identify anonymous Circle members.

Keep It Safe

• No threats of violence or harm to yourself or others.
• No sexually explicit content, nudity, or graphic violence.
• No promotion of self-harm, eating disorders, or substance abuse.
• No content that exploits or endangers minors in any way.

Keep It Real

• No spam, advertising, or unsolicited promotional content.
• No impersonation or fake accounts.
• No manipulation of engagement metrics (fake reactions, coordinated inauthentic behavior).

4. Content Ownership

You retain ownership of all content you create on Atlas, including check-ins, posts, comments, photos, videos, and voice messages. By posting content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to display, store, and distribute your content as necessary to operate the App. This license ends when you delete your content or account.

5. Content Moderation

• All user-generated content (text, images, and video including 60-second video check-ins) is subject to automated AI moderation before being visible to other users. Video moderation samples frames at one per second.
• Content that violates community guidelines may be automatically removed.
• Content receiving multiple reports from other users may be automatically hidden pending review.
• We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms at our discretion.
• For users under 18, content moderation is fail-closed: if our moderation system is unavailable, content will not be posted.

6. Circles

Public Circles

• Public Circles are anonymous communities of approximately 50 members.
• You are assigned a random display name within each Circle. Your real identity is not visible to other members.
• Do not attempt to identify other members or share Circle conversations outside the Circle.

Private Circles

• Private Circles are invite-only groups created by a subscriber.
• Members use their real identity (display name and avatar) in Private Circles.
• The circle creator manages membership, settings, and modules (posts, photos, calendar).
• Creating a Private Circle requires an active Atlas+ subscription. Members can access and participate in Private Circles they've been invited to regardless of their subscription status.

7. Tagging

• You may only tag users who have accepted your friend request.
• Tags are limited to posts with friends or close friends visibility. You cannot tag users in public or journal posts.
• Tagged users receive a notification and can remove their own tag at any time.
• Abusing the tagging feature (e.g., tagging users in harassing or unwanted content) is a violation of our Community Guidelines and may result in enforcement action.

8. Post Visibility

• Posts support three visibility levels: Friends, Community, and Only Me (private journal).
• You can modify the visibility of your posts after creation (e.g., changing from Community to Friends).
• Only Me (private journal) entries cannot be made public after creation.
• Changing post visibility does not notify users who previously had access.
• Post view counts are tracked for all posts and are visible to the post author. Individual viewer identities are not disclosed.

9. Circle Events

• Private Circle members can create events with a title, date/time, location, and description.
• Event creators are responsible for the accuracy and appropriateness of event content.
• Events are visible to Circle members only and are subject to the same content moderation as other Circle content.

10. Messages

• Direct messaging is available between accepted friends only. You cannot message someone who has not accepted your friend request.
• Messages support text, photos, voice messages, and emoji reactions.
• Messages auto-delete based on the expiration setting chosen by each participant (1 minute to 30 days).
• Screenshots are blocked on Android. On iOS, screenshot detection notifies both participants.
• You can report individual messages and block users directly from a conversation.
• All cross-age messages (between a minor and an adult) are subject to AI content moderation before delivery.
• Messaging for users under 18 may be restricted or disabled at our discretion.

11. Atlas+ Subscription

• Atlas+ is a premium subscription available at $4.99/month through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
• Atlas+ includes: custom accent colors (20 colors), custom post fonts (31 fonts), custom chat backgrounds, unlimited check-in history, Emotion Insights, profile view tracking (see who viewed your profile), a verified badge, and the ability to create up to 3 Private Circles with photos and calendar features.
• Post fonts set by Atlas+ subscribers are visible to all users. Only setting a custom font requires an active subscription.
• Custom chat background images are uploaded to cloud storage and associated with the subscriber's account.
• Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
• You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your device's App Store or Play Store settings.
• Refunds are handled by Apple or Google per their respective refund policies.
• If an Atlas+ subscription expires, Private Circles you created become read-only for 30 days. You and your members can still view content but cannot post. After 30 days, Private Circles and their content may be permanently deleted.
• Your check-in history reverts to 30 days, custom accent colors revert to default, custom post fonts revert to default, chat backgrounds are removed, Emotion Insights are no longer accessible, and the verified badge is removed upon cancellation.
• Streak restores are separate one-time purchases ($0.99 each) available to all users.

12. Sponsored Content

• Atlas may display sponsored content in the feed, clearly labeled as "Sponsored."
• Sponsored content is matched by activity category only (e.g., fitness, cooking). It is never matched by your emotional state, personal identity, or behavioral profile.
• Your personal data is never shared with sponsors.

13. Enforcement

• Violations may result in warnings, content removal, temporary suspension, or permanent account bans.
• Repeated violations result in escalating consequences.
• Blocked users cannot see your content, send you friend requests, wave at you, or message you.
• Appeals can be submitted through the App or by emailing support@oneatlas.app.

Atlas is not a substitute for professional mental health treatment. If you or someone you know is in crisis:

15. Disclaimers

• Atlas is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind by OneAtlas LLC.
• We are not a medical, therapeutic, or clinical service.
• Content on Atlas should not be considered professional advice of any kind.
• We do not guarantee the accuracy of emotional map data, weather information, or user-generated content.
• We are not responsible for the actions of other users, including content they share or messages they send.

16. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, OneAtlas LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of Atlas, including but not limited to emotional distress, data loss, or unauthorized access to your account.

17. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, United States. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of Atlas shall be resolved through binding arbitration in Hamilton County, Ohio, in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association.

18. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the App or via email. Your continued use of Atlas after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
